SAF Reiterates Keenness to Deal with UNAMID in Accordance with the Agreement

The spokesman of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) , Lieutenant Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khalid Saad affirmed that the government impose full control on Jebel Marra, also stressing the commitment of the Armed Forces to cease fire with whom they have agreements, but said that the ceasefire does not prevent the SAF to defend themselves if attacked and confirmed their Cooperation with all the voluntary organizations working in Jebel Marra area, as well as with the UNAMID.

He said, in press statements, that the purpose of the SAF is to provide security and tranquility for citizens, and expressing the concern of the armed forces to what happened to UNAMID on 5 March, where exposure to an ambush by armed movements and renewed the armed forces to deal with UNAMID in accordance with the agreement that governed the country's constitution and said the country is about to the stage of democratic transformation, therefore all have to maintain the security and stability.
