Kenana, April 2 (SUNA)- The South Sudanese political leaders and intellectuals, meeting in Kenana, White Nile State, have strongly and categorically rejected the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir. Khartoum, April 3 (SUNA) - The President of the Republic Field Marshal Omar Al Bashir has said the West has been targeting the Sudan because of the country's resources and that the West is using such international institutions as the Security Council and the International Monetary Fund IMF for that purpose. The President of the republic has pointed out in his meeting with the leadership of the African Trade Unions who have expressed their backing for the Sudan against the plots of the International Criminal Court, that the West has lastly used the International Criminal Court as one of its cycles that seek to subjugate the Sudan making using some internal problems in the country. The President said Western countries have been providing political, military and media backing for the rebel movements and obstructed the implementation of the Darfur peace agreement. The President renewed Sudan's stance against the hegemony to be imposed on the African, Arab and other vulnerable peoples. The President commended the stance of the African workers Trade Unions and their leadership with the Sudan in face of the allegations of the ICC. On his part the Secretary General of the organization Hassan Sununu voiced the backing of the unions for the Sudan and their readiness to work for achieving unity and stability in the Sudan. President Al-Bashir affirmed that the enemies of Sudan will not be able to stop the development and peace process in the country, reviewing the plots Sudan have been facing since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and before that. President Al-Bashir pointed out that the organizations for which tears were shed constitute only 4.7% from the organizations operating in Darfur, which number 118 organizations, including 84 foreign organizations. President Al-Bashir affirmed that the government of Sudan will exert efforts with the support of the government of Qatar to realize peace in Darfur. BT/BT
