Passport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

 

Photo

Please send 3 recent professional passport-type photographs.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

 

 

Proof of US Status

Photocopy of Alien Registration Card (Green Card) -or- evidence of legal status in USA (valid visa plus I-94 in passport)

 

 

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

 

 

Vaccinations

Vaccinations - International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required.

 

 

 

Business Letter

A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required if you are traveling for business purposes , to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Consulate of Chad, Visa Section, New York, NY
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Additional Helpful Information

The CHAD tourist or business Single Entry visa is usually valid for only 30 days from date issued, for a stay not to exceed 30 days. This means the applicant must enter Chad within 30 days of the issue of the visa, and can then stay up to 30 days. Three and six months Multiple Entries visas are also available.

The International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is not required at time of visa issuance, but must be presented upon arrival.

Canadian residents may apply for visa through Washington D.C. TDS requires payment by money order or certified check drawn on a U.S. Bank, or by credit card. UPS shipping rates to Canada will be higher than the domestic rates shown above.

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy, and is usually processed in 72 hours (4 business days).
