REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A VISA TO ENTER DEM REP CONGO
Passport
Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.
Photo
Please send 2 recent professional passport-type photographs.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations - International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required. Cholera vaccination is recommended but is not required.
Business Letter
A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required (two copies), to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Democratic Republic of Congo, Visa Section, Washington DC
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.
Invitation
Letter of invitation (Notarized) from a host compnay in Democratic Republic of Congo. Invitation should detail intended dates of arrival and departure from the country, your name and passport number intend address of stay while in DRC, and request any special visa conditions (Multiple Entries visa) if required. Fax or scan is accepted.

Additional Helpful Information
The D.R. Congo business visa is usually valid for three months from date issued, for a stay of 1-6 months as specified.
Passport must have at least six months remaining validity and contain at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued. TDS can assist with obtaining U.S. Passports, whether new issue, renewal, or obtaining additional visa pages for a valid passport.
Your application will be hand carried to the Embassy, and is usually processed in 4-5 business days.
Rush issuance is available in 1-2 Business days. The Consular fee is doubled for Rush issue.
