REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A VISA TO ENTER VIETNAM
Passport
Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Please send 1 recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

Additional Helpful Information
Normal processing time for a single entry, "Entry visa" issuance is approximately 5-7 business days. RUSH SERVICE (for single entry visa only) of 2-3 business days is available for an additional embassy fee of $20.00.
Former Vietnamese nationals and Vietnamese holders of U.S. Re-Entry Permits should require a special application form and instructions. They can usually be issued a visa valid for a stay of up to 90 days. A different visa applicant form and instructions are required for Vietnamese born U.S. citizens and residents. The Vietnam visa can usually be extended after arrival in Vietnam at the Vietnam Immigration Service, for a further 20 days stay. There is a fee of $25 paid to V.I.S.
Your application will be hand carried to the Embassy, and the single entry visa (1 month visa) is usually processed in 5-7 business days.
Emergency single entry visas -additional $20.00 Embassy fee- are usually processed in 2-3 business days.
Other single entry visas (3 month) are usually processed in 2-3 business days with no rush fee charged. The period of stay in Vietnam is usually as requested on your application form.
