REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A VISA TO ENTER SAO TOME & PRINCIPE
Passport
Submit your valid signed U.S. passport (must have at least 6 months remaining validity and must contain at least two blank facing pages - not including Pages 22, 23, or 24).
Photo
Please send 1 recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations - International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required.
Business Letter
A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Permanent Mission of Sao Tome, Visa Section, New York, NY
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Additional Helpful Information
The visa is usually valid for a single entry within 90 days of the date issued, for a stay up to 30 days.
Passport must have at least six months remaining validity and contain at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued.
TDS can assist with obtaining U.S. Passports, whether new issue, renewal, or obtaining additional visa pages for a valid passport.
Your application will be checked and carried to the Permanent Mission in New York and is usually processed in 3-5 business days.
