It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new, updated web-site of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to the United States of America.
Kazakhstan is a country in the heart of Eurasia that for centuries has been hidden “behind the curtain” for the West and certainly has a lot to offer to our friends in the United 
States. Fascinating history of Kazakhstan is full of amazing facts which, I am sure, will be of great interest to you. Kazakhs hail from the ancient nomadic walk of life and witnessed great many state formations on their territory and for millennia lived at the crossroads of major movements of people, diverse cultures, outlooks, habits, religions etc.
Modern Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world with a tremendous potential, dynamism and glistering architecture where Europe and Asia, East and West have a comparable influence, creating a unique mixture of styles and walks of life.
It is my firm belief that almost any aspect of today’s Kazakhstan – nature and tourism, history and traditions, dynamic development after the collapse of the Soviet Union and unique model of interreligious and interethnic tolerance – could become an excellent starting point for your journey, real or imaginary, to the heart of Eurasia.
